ABOUT THIS ARTIST
Chris is a “boomer” and proud of it. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, Chris Owens liked to rock, pop and funk, embracing the Jackson 5, The Temptations and The Beatles to start with, as well as Bach, Beethoven and Pete Seeger! Chris has performed solo, with his own bands, and with singer-songwriters and choruses.
Today, COVID-19 has created a new world. Having lost his wife of 28 years to cancer in 2019, Chris decided that COVID needed to create new lives, not just terrorize and take lives. (And there are too many artists named “Chris Owens,” anyway!) Thus, Chris Oledude was born. With the 2020 release of “My Tower,” Chris started a new chapter with an “old school” mix of blues, gospel, R&B, rock, Broadway and pointed lyrics.
Chris is also the proud owner of CESO Enterprises, Inc., the producer of two multi-award-winning music videos: “George Floyd: Say Their Names” and “Orange Blues 24”. Check out the videos and their awards at www.oledudesongs.com.
Sit back and relax or get up and dance. Just like back in the day, this music does it all and you can do it all with music by Chris Oledude.
The next live (and live-streamed) performance featuring Chris Oledude and his work will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Peoples’ Voice Cafe in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Entitled MLK MEETS INAUGURATION DAY, this event will bring together a special collection of artists.
